Zipper is too hard and when it comes with lubricant you know it’s going to be difficult. Cooler needs to be prechilled before use? States right on the performance card to put a bag of ice in it to prechill it and then toss the bag of ice out? You can only use 1/3 of the cooler for food and beverage since it requires 2/3 of it to be ice! Not worth the money Or hassle involved.

My wife and I just took our 5 month old daughter to Italy and bought a Yeti Hopper cooler to store 3 days of breast milk during our long travel days. We could not be more happy with our decision. It is worth every single penny. The Yeti managed to keep all of the breast milk frozen for > 24 hours with travel delays. If it weren’t for this cooler, we likely would have needed to discard all the thawed milk. It is lightweight and easy to carry. It gets the job done! Thank you, Yeti!

The zipper on this thing is crap! The individual teeth keep twisting, preventing it from operating properly, then total failure. Yeti says zipper must be “waxed with provided stick” yup done that too, but still crap. And this is the replacement unit, happened on the original purchase too. If you are going to use it once in a while, you might not realize how little of use it takes for this to fail, but if you use it everyday like I do, you’ll hate it too. I thought at this price it would be the last lunchbox I would ever buy. Turns out it’s just the LAST yeti product I’ll buy.

Bought this at Ace Hardware because I was going on a trip in a few hours. Heard good things about it. My experience was that it didn’t live up to the hype. Tried to keep beverages cold with the reusable ice packs, didn’t last 12 hours. Tried with ice another time, again ice gone within 10 hours. This trip I bought a $20 Igloo cooler, 24 hours later still have some ice. For $249 I expect more. The larger version of this performs about as well.

I very loved yeti soft cooler I bought 2 of them the hooper 30 and flip 8 both of them are tan/ orange color. The bags are fantastic but the zipper are junk as others are review about it, the teeth start unalignment and fall off within a year of used. I KNOW that a lot of people having the same issues as me .

I know a lot of people had a problem with how tight the zipper is but with the included zipper lube it would help but so far no problem with my zipper easy to open and close, used it today and i only put one 4 pound yeti reusable ice block in the lunchbox/soft cooler and left it in the car for about 4 hours in the sun went to lunch and everything was cold, not freezing cold, but cold enough to keep my food from spoiling, been opening and closing it for the last hour or so and everything is maintaining a chill. would say a 250 dollar lunch box is worth it but if you have the extra money i would highly recommend getting it!

I’ve only used this a couple of times but so far it’s performed to my expectations. I did read some of the helpful tips and they proved to be true. Cool it with an ice pack before using and fill it up so there’s no extra air inside when in use. I read one suggestion of a towel and that worked but if you’re trying to cut down on weight, the other Excellent tip was bubble wrap – Perfect!!!

This addition to the Yeti family out performs any other cooler of its size including hard side ones. However, not light weight if you add the recommended 16 pounds of ice which I find baffling to 12 cans a beverage. I could barely lift the thing myself, but I’m a Senior.

The next tough go is the zipper if you have our arthritis forget it it’s painful to pull that thing open. I would recommend it for anyone under age 50. Friends my age who also happens to be athletic still think it’s heavy.If you own a truck the hard side Yeti’s i’ll probably a better option.

I bought the Yeti Hopper Flip 12 in charcoal because I wanted something that could keep drinks cold, survive a nuclear blast (because let’s face it… a day on the boat with a crew of friends… well… need I say more), and look good doing it. Mission accomplished. This cooler is basically a tank disguised as a tote bag.

Took it out on a lake day with the crew, loaded it with enough drinks to sedate a small village (or keep a few of us content for an hour or two), and it kept them ice-cold — even in the sun, even after repeated dramatic openings like we were in a commercial.

But the real magic? That STRAP.

At one point, we stopped by a buddy’s cottage—classic pontoon pit stop—and someone 🫣 forgot to bring rope to tie up the boat. So what do we do? MacGyver the Yeti strap and secure the entire pontoon boat to a tree. I’m not saying this is in the manual, and I’m not saying I recommend it… but in a pinch… it held like it was born to do it. Boat didn’t drift, nobody died, and most importantly, the drinks stayed cold while we bragged about our genius.

10/10 would trust my beverages—and now apparently my watercraft—with this cooler again.

Buy it. You won’t regret it.
